Remote ID (RID) is a practical “visibility layer” for drones: a broadcast signal that helps identify a drone in flight and provides basic situational awareness and information relating to the aircraft. It's purpose is to enable the safe and scaled introduction of into the lower airspace, supporting the development of the industry. while allowing Safe, transparent drone use with greater accountability. As RID becomes standard, adopting it early brings real operational benefits, without changing what good airmanship and compliance already require.

Remote ID brings benefits to all lower airspace users

  •  Fewer interruptions on jobs: When someone asks, “who’s flying?”, RID supports quicker, calmer resolution, especially on construction sites, urban work, and near sensitive locations.
  •  Better deconfliction around incidents: Helps police/first responders distinguish authorised “friendly” drone activity from unknown activity during emergencies or multi-team scenes.
  •  More predictable operations: Early adoption lets teams bake RID checks into SOPs and training, avoiding last-minute compliance risk.

  •  Supports proportionate security and enforcement: Improves the ability to triage reports and respond appropriately, reducing unnecessary disruption to legitimate operators.
  •  Enables industry scale-up: Consistent visibility helps build trust with clients, landowners, infrastructure operators, and communities—supporting more routine advanced operations over time.

Plug-and-play retrofit RID broadcast units

  • Brings legacy fleets into compliance: Adds RID to aircraft that don’t have it built in (subject to local rules and device compatibility).
  •  Fast field deployment: Can be mounted quickly (Velcro) and moved between aircraft where appropriate, useful for mixed fleets and contractors.
  • Key operational consideration: Treat like safety-critical kit—secure mounting, reliable power, and a defined pre-flight check.

Mobile RID receivers - handheld

  • Immediate local air picture for better decisions: See RID-broadcasting drones nearby (and basic details) on a map in real time, which supports faster, more proportionate on-scene responses for security, infrastructure and incident management.
  •  Operational assurance for operators and teams: Quickly confirm your own fleet is actually broadcasting RID (especially after firmware updates, handovers, or configuration changes) and use it as a simple training/check tool for crews.
  • Scalable field capability + better reporting: A phone-based receiver is easy to deploy across teams, and where supported it can capture observations (tracks/logs) to support incident reports, after-action reviews, and stakeholder reassurance.

Compliance note: RID improves visibility and accountability, but it is NOT permission to fly. Always align with your jurisdiction’s rules, airspace requirements, and any operational authorisation conditions.
